Housing Applications are available at the Band Office, these need to be filled out and renewed every year.
There’s a representative from each family to form the Housing Committee.
Under the general supervision of the Administrator, the Social Housing Officer is responsible for overall administration of the day-to-day operations of SFN’s Housing program.
The Social Housing Officer is responsible for performing the administrative duties and coordinating activities related to the housing program of Shxw’owhamel First Nations including overseeing band-owned homes, rental units,
and ensuring homes are maintained up to health and safety standards, conducting housing inspections, maintaining accurate and up-to-date housing files, and responding to community members housing-related requests.
Using the Simply Account Program, the Housing Officer is responsible for ensuring that the accounting, reporting and auditing for the housing program is maintained.
Will act as a liaison between Stό:lō Tribal Council (STC), Indian & Northern Affairs Canada (INAC), Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation (CMHC), local municipalities and all other agencies/businesses that Shxw’ōwhámel First Nation does business with in regards to housing.
